One particular concerning side effect is my craving for sweets and starches. I've been sucking down sugar like it's going out of style, which, of course, it never will. Would love to hear if anyone has any experiences with SAD and how they have remedied the situation (or not). Some have suggested light therapy, but I'm going to go with alcohol.
As a complete nonsequitur, when I get good and pissed at someone, I dream of sending them the Fake Thrax, powdered sugar in an unmarked enveloped. Now I'm not saying that I would ever do that, I'm just saying that I dream of it.

I get the S.A.D. bad...real bad. I find myself looking forward to Dec 22 just because the days start getting longer. Yet, January and February still turn me into Greta Garbo...minus the Swedish accent, renowned silent film career, and paired X chromosomes. Keeping myself active with various projects helps me fight the hermit tendencies, but nothing helps me more than spending time with people I care for (Insert canned sitcom "aaawwww" here). Yea, booze is often involved, but I think it's mainly the people...Besides, my one year old nephew still can't hold his scotch...The lightweight!
Actually, drinking definitely helped. I started my treatment last night :)
